I'm conflicted about Google Street View
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 10:55 AM by PeterU
On the one hand, I think it is just about the coolest thing ever. I've always had a fascination about maps--I'd look at a map of some far off place and wondered what the place on the map really looks like first hand. And Google Street View feeds that fascination.

On the other hand, I am wondering if it takes the fun and mystery out of going to new places. I mean, I could go to a city I've never been before, like LA or San Francisco or Chicago, and see it the first time with my own eyes. But with the Google Street View, I can see things before hand without leaving my house. So that when I eventually do see that city, it might not be as special.

What are your thoughts on the Google Street View?
