Oh, and this is a catch-all Car Talk appreciation thread.

2. They don't, but I still can't tell them apart
I never know which one is talking. :dunce:

But: It's tied with 'Wait Wait Don't Tell Me' for my favorite NPR programming. I heart Saturday mornings.

That's what I do. I almost never catch it on the radio.

8. Tom's the one that almost always laughs.
Half the magic of that show is listening to them laugh like a couple of idiots. I especially love when the BS their way out of a caller's question if they are stumped.

3. No, but my engine sounds like
glass marbles have been tossed into its gears.

It sounds like this: "Gggggththt--*ph* *cough cough* and then it sort of sputters out. WTF is going on with that?

Also, assuming I can fix it, I'm thinking of gluing rhinestones to the exterior of my car. What kind of glue would be most durable given the inside & outside temps of the car? Thanks in advance.

-Love. B-)

...sounds like somebody tossed Glass Marbles into your gears. :) :)

11. Not at all to me
I can tell who's who! I bet if I see them speak it will confuse me at first, if I watch their show I mean.

I haven't driven in years & forgot everything I used to know about cars but I still have fun listening to them every week! :headbang:

13. Tom is the jollier one, and I've always assumed he's the one with the mustache
Ray has a raspier voice which matches the one with the beard. I've never checked to see if I'm right though.

14. Actually, you have them switched.
Ray's the shorter, balding one who's kind of the straight man of the two. Tom has the beard, and that hilarious chuckle.

17. No, but I'm surprised to learn that Snap, Crackle and Pop
were actually voiced by different actors.

19. They did a great cameo in Pixar's Cars
Effective in the story and also true to the actors' on-air personae.

22. no - one knows more about cars (at least now he does)
and the other one is more of the jokester... And their voices have different tonal qualities. One is lower pitched than the other.

love that show - listen to it every week....
