Update on my daily nightmare

So yesterday I learned that my license was suspended because I got a fix-it-ticket last year and I never got anything in the mail about it because the post office sucks.

Well, the fine is $682. Do I have $682? No, no I do not.

I talked to the clerk at the courthouse, and he said I could pay $485 will proof of correction, OR I could go before the judge and argue to have my fine reduced. The judge is in Santa Barbara. I am in Redding. I suppose I could take Amtrak down there, but I'm worried that going down there will be, at the end of the day, not much less expensive than paying the damn fine.

What should I do? :shrug:

As the crow flies, it's still about 5 miles away, 3 miles of which are urbanized. I'm not too worried now, but if it comes into town, it's going to be time to get worried. :o
