Maybe I'm just Rabrrrrrr, but I could not survive without Sharpies |
|
I do so much that needs those wonderful, amazing pens with their ink that doesn't smear or run, I don't know how I'd survive without them. This includes writing on photio printing experiments, signing things, writing on plastics, writing on tape, yada yada yada... mostly I guess because I'm an artist, I use them a lot to write on materials that won't take any other kind of ink. Thank God for sharpies.
a big :toast: to Sharpies!

3. I wouldn't have made it through my first 'art' class without sharpies |
|
Let's just say my teacher was all about negative space :7

So noir.
I love negative space, but I do it positively.

6. I don't quite get the Kamika reference |
|
But it's a good poem! And you can see in my sig line artwork what I mean by positive negative space. :-)
I do love the poem, though! Speaks so much of your 'tude about having to fill in massive black spaces..
Since you had to do so much negative space stuff, how do you feel about Will Eisner? He's one of my sequential comics heroes, an utter genius who should rightfully rank up there with Rothko and Warhol and Picasso in terms of ability and importance, but sadly doesn't.

Don't worry about Kamika, that was merely a joke
Funny thing that, the poem was a core dump of my feelings towards my 2D design class.
Drawing 1 taught me outlines and then tones. Color theory comes next. What really surprises me is that people pay me a good amount of money for my graphics, yet contacts that aren't 'word of mouth' still shit on me for not having a degree.
I did love your Orange work, "Auction selection number 1", I'm happy that you earned DU that much cash. As you can see, if you look to your left, Skinner is mine.

You change avatars more often than a freeper changes his IP address so he can harass DU or the Democratic Underground area of Jennifer States.
:-)
Screw the people who don't like that you don't have a degree. Eventually, word of mouth will get around, and your lack of degree will become irrelevant.
And thanks for the kudos for the orange work - that's the one that won the auction!

Yeah! That's what I'm sayin'!
and yeah, I do change Avatars a lot, they depend on my mood, but the problem is, if I'm pissed off and lazy, you'll never know when I'm pissed off :7
