Glyco - Thymoline Mouthwash and Gargle...
Ok, this is very weird to me. I have had a back problem and a friend brought this product to me. She says that Edgar Cayse (sp?) invented it. I'm not supposed to drink it, thank God, I'm supposed to put it on a rag and then put it on my back. It contains: water, glycerin, SD Alcohol, Sodium Borate, Sodium Benzoate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Carmine, Sodium Salicylate, Eucalyptol, Menthol, Pine Oil,Thymol and Methyl Salicylate.

Does anybody know anything about this stuff?

Oh, BTW, it can also be used for "personal hygene"

2. Edgar Cayce was a fraud and a charlatan
Anything credited to him is either bullshit or nonsense.

I guess it's possible that this particular piece of snake-oil works as described, but he's still a fraud and charlatan. And a much-revered one, no less, because people are perennially ridiculous.

Not you--I mean, you might be ridiculous, but I don't know you well enough to say one way or the other. But the people who ascribe mysterious, prescient wisdom to Cayce are kooks.

3. Oh dear! Well, as long as it doesn't poison me, I might try it.
Nothing else works on this pain. I had a feeling Edgar Cayce was a nut!

4. Don't know about all the ingredients listed
but these: Eucalyptol, Menthol, Pine Oil, tend to stimulate the flow of blood. Stimulating blood flow is one of the key ways to promote healing of just about anything. Blood carries away the toxins and brings fresh nutrients to damaged cells.

It's sort of the same thing Bengay and like products do.

6. Not necessarily
If you have flawed blood cells (like I do) thats gonna do jack shit to help.
As for the mixture..It has WATER listed first...that means its mostly water..and those other substances are probably in such small amounts that they won't do anything.
Snake oil..hope you didn't pay for it.

8. Pardon
I was generalizing and not taking into account flawed blood cells.

I expect it works about as well as Bengay and like products--superficially may feel good, but doesn't solve the real problem.

5. Europe seems to have a more tolerant view to Cayce and to
holistic medicines in general for that matter:
http://www.edgarcayce.org/edgarcayce_international/edgarcayce_eurocongress01.asp

Most European countries with Cayce activities were represented at the Congress. Shigeru Mitsuda, president of the Edgar Cayce Center in Japan, expressed his support by attending the conference. He also agreed to make a presentation. Several American speakers had been invited, including Charles Thomas Cayce, Jeanette Thomas and David McMillin from the A.R.E. Headquarters. In fact, almost forty Americans registered. More than half of them joined Charles Thomas and Leslie Cayce on an additional five-day tour in Prague and the surrounding area, after the Congress.

Seems some people have issue with him. I don't think it has been proven that Cayce ever did any harm, which is the first law of the Hippocratic Oath, iirc.
