I'm very contented this morning, the very picture of domestic tranquility. In my lap I have both Brody, our puppy, and Sid, our cat ( a RARE event, in and of itself), while at my feet is Gover, our adult dog. Paddy is snoring softly in the bedroom, and in my hand is a cup of good Kona North Coast coffee, made strong and sweet.
Life is good, folks! :)

I have to deal with so much garbage and stress at work that I REALLY appreciate the peace and tranquility we have here at home. :)

Me, I'm sitting at the desk with Toby at my left (he's looking out at the birds & squirrels), Richard at my right (he's trying to be dignified, waiting to be petted and resenting the wait), having my toast & diet coke, reading the news & DU. :toast:

Sounds lovely, Kim! I think I hear Paddy stirring, but won't bet on it, because Sunday is the only day he gets to stay in bed past 3:00 a.m., poor guy. :)

Yikes. Mrs. V. is sleeping, too. My poor baby suffers terribly in the winter -- she never sleeps well, but the cold weather exacerbates her arthritis and keeps her awake no matter what she does. So she takes her sleep when she can get it.
I'm thinking of canceling my birthday lunch. I know she's not up for it, and since it's my day she would never admit it. I just want her to be comfortable. She should be home with heating pads.

8. Yes, 3:00 a.m., 6 days a week. |
|
he has to be at his shop to take delivery of the newspaper bundles, then sort, count and separate them for the carriers to pick them up at 5:00 a.m. .
I'm sorry to hear about the Mrs., Kim; paddy also suffers from arthritis, and is having surgery tomorrow morning to correct an ulnar-nerve entrapment caused by it.

He's nervous, but not as nervous as he was. His orthopaedist vetoed the anesthesiologists decision to use a regional anesthetic, so he'll be getting a short-acting general anesthetic, we understand. Paddy definitely likes the idea of being unconscious when someone takes a knife to his living flesh better than the idea of being awake for the same. I'll be minding the store (at HIS request), from the time I drop him off at the o/p surgery center, until he wakes up in recovery (the hospital has assured him that they will call me the very second he wakes up). :P
PS--- His brother will be coming down, too, for the day, so that's re-assured Paddy, too. :)
