WTF, Food Network?
Did we really need another Wacky FoodTV Personality(tm) Travels to Crappy Restaurants in the Boonies and Samples Shitty Local Fare While Hijinx Ensue! show?

Aren't we up to like, number 14? :banghead:

1. To whom are you referring?
Just so I can accurately direct my scorn. :D

2. That horrible couple with the shitty soul food show on weekends.

The Neelys. They're getting a show with that format. There's also another useless show coming out with that obnoxious Cooking for Real woman, except the twist will be that she is not sampling shitty local food when she travels, she is going "behind the scenes" to see how food gets to the supermarket, or some shit. Wasn't that called Unwrapped?

Remember when there were actual chefs on that channel?

4. Yeah, that show was passable when Paula Deen's sons were the hosts.
The Neeleys seem like nice people, but Mrs. Neely annoys me. She's like the African-American Rachael Ray.

Now, I kind of like Guy Fieri's show. He goes where regular people go.

I haven't seen the new "behind the scenes" show. It looks horrendous.

Yes, I remember when there were chefs instead of commercials (some masquerading as shows).

5. She gets on my nerves so bad.
Her husband is okay but she's just loud and obnoxious. And their food sucks. I can think of at least a handful of soul food chefs who could just destroy them in the kitchen. I'm glad that they're at least trying to show some diversity on the channel but it's like they go out of their way to showcase obnoxious people who can't cook (though, in fairness, that's pretty much all the white people on the channel too).

Guy Fieri does at least go to some interesting places but I find myself wishing he'd end up in a grease fire in most episodes. I hate this trend of theirs where they seem to shelve their talented people or take them out of the cooking show format (like poor Mario Batali slumming on that shitty American Iron Chef) in favor of pimping these Wacky Personalities. Say what you will about Emeril but at least his forced wackiness was backed up by at least some marginal talent in the kitchen.

3. I wish they'd bring David Rosengarten back.
I learned so much from him. He has his own website now, so I read there frequently.
