Anyone else like the smell of pipe smoke? (tobacco, not crack)

I know it's not cool on here to say anything positive about smoking, but I must admit that I like the smell of pipe smoke. I passed a guy sitting outside of the grocery store today who was smoking a pipe and it smelled great. I've always thought so.

Anyone else agree?

1. Maybe you have good memories associated with it?

I have a friends who likes the smell because it reminds her of her deceased father.

Personally, I can't stand the smell of it. Yuck. But there are other things that go into pipes (not crack) that I find much more pleasant. ;)

2. Depends on the tobacco.

Some of it is just rank. My dad smoked a pipe, so when I smell his brand I do admittedly enjoy it.

I'm not a connoisseur, so I don't know what's what, nor do I smoke ;)

4. I smoke one rarely...

usually when I'm writing. It's a great smell...the quality of the tobacco does make a difference. I've smoked some stinky biting tobacco in my life. It's hell and you can't get the aroma out.

5. My grandfather used to smoke one and I always thought it smelled wonderful

Of course, my dad smoked 3 packs a day so I was accustomed to the smell of smoke but Gramps' tobacco had a mysterious aromatic quality to it. I suppose if I smelled it today it would feel like a comforting smell, remind me of walking into his house.

hate cigar/cigarette smoke, but someone with a pipe can smoke in my house anytime, if the tobacco smells good.
