Blackberry users - convince me it's worth a look. |
|
I'm getting rid of my Sidekick 3 - it's served its purpose plus more, so we're looking into Blackberries - I heard something about the 9000's and wonder if it's even worth a buy for me and the wife...
Convince me why I should take a look. My uses are mostly: Internet (DU, naturally), games, IM and email.
Wife is mostly photos and e-mail.
Since we are both deaf, we have no use for telephone services. Fortunately Tmobile, Sprint, and AT&T offer data only plans, which is what we are going with.
Tell me which Blackberry I should go with.

1. I got a refurbished BlackBerry from AT&T |

for only an $18 upgrade fee. i love it. It's the BlackBerry Curve. I learned after I got it that there are three versions of the Curve. 1. with GPS; 2. with Wii; 3 with both GPS an Wii. Had I known in advance I would have tried to get the Wii since i have little use for GPS, but for free what the hey.
Easy to use and it syncs to my Mac. I never used the calendar feature on any of my old phones because they were such a pain. The full keyboard makes the calendar and notes function extremely useful.

It's annoyingly hard to use. I'm getting an iPhone. I don't know if they have a data-only plan, though.

4. I have the Pearl and I love it |

once you get used to the keyboard (granted I was coming from a conventional phone), the speed of typing is really fast. Internet seems to work fine, I don't know about DU. Email is quick and easy to set up. Can't comment on the games, only played the free one that came with the phone and it seemed good.
