Holy crap. I don't give a damn about Yankee Stadium. Yes, we all know Joe Buck that this is the final year for Old Yankee Stadium. Shut the hell up already. I seriously hope the yankees make it to the WS (and the AL wins the ASG), and lose it on a terrible error by Mariano Rivera (or an obviously blown call, a la Royals-Cardinals) in bottom of the 9th with 2 outs in game 7.

3. As a Sox Nation member, I'm no Yankees fan, BUT
that is the House that Ruth Built. It's the end of an era. It deserves it's due, based on what's happened there, the legends, the best in the game. Ruth, Mantle...

4. Yankee Stadium is closing?
:shug:

What are the odds they're paying for their own new stadium out of their own pockets? How much are they going to charge us in taxes to build it for them. x(

Every time I hear about taxpayers building a stadium or an arena we never, ever hear about any kind of audit that shows the city broke even afterward. What a total waste of our money!
:grr:

9. And next year you'll get to hear the ZOMG- New Stadium!1! stuff all season.

As a Giants fan, it was really funny every time they'd get a national media crew in to their new park a few years back when it was new, because they'd all go on about two things:

How beautiful the place is

and

The overwhelming smell of garlic fries.

Since you east coast people are heathens who don't understand the glory of garlic fries and microbrew at a game (and since New York generally smells of things that shouldn't be mentioned on family television) I figure they'll just get their thesauri out and try to outdo each other in effusive phrase of the place's attractiveness. If it winds up fugly they'll blather on about history. Expect to hear the phrase "storied franchise" a lot. :P

10. Oh put on your Pull Ups and deal.
I'm a Yankees fan but if Fenway closed I wouldn't begrudge a season long nostalgia fest. Or hell, if any other extremely historical baseball landmark closed. I'm a fan of the game and it's an important place where a lot of history and memories have been made, good and bad.

People whining about the Yankees is far more tiresome, IMO.
