Am I crazy, or have I been on DU for too long?
When I have a controversial thought, I think of it as a DU thread, whether it's personal or political. I imagine the subject line, and then think what I would say to disruptors or detractors. I just started doing this tonight, since I'm stressed, and I've thought of two threads that I wanted to post, but didn't, since I've been a mod, and know better than to cause controversy here, but there were two things I really wanted other's opinions on. I just wondered if anybody else ever has these thoughts.

3. Thank you. Question answered.
I've never posted something like this before, but I know people do. I just wanted to know and I thank you for answering my question. That quote is from the movie "Moonstruck," but it applies to my question, as well.

And you know me, my friend, so I trust your judgment. I've missed hearing from you. Please keep in touch.:hi:

4. Got it, and I took two semesters of Shakespeare, in college.
I guess my better part of valor would be just to go to bed. Thanks. :hi:

5. Never Ever Do I Have Those Thoughts..... hmmmm
maybe that would be a thread, what kind of thoughts do you never ever have? :P

Ok, yeah, it's a symptom of our illness. See once we were free, then the Evil Skinner took over our brains. Now we are all in vats connected to wires, basically batteries for his computer system. Skinner.... even sounds like an evil kind of artificial intelligence.

Now, the question is, will you take the red pill... or....

RUN, RUN

oh wait, we're in vats. never mind.

what was your question?

Maybe that would be a good thread, "do you ever start to answer a question and get so distracted by some random thought that you forget the question?"

7. Well, I thought long and hard about the threads I thought of posting.
One was a personal question, about people, and I decided that was inappropriate, though it's something I have come to realize and I wanted to know if I was right.

But the other was about Barak Obama, since I think it's a very bad decision for him to go to Iraq. I am terrified for him, had two conversations about this today with friends who are also fellow DUers, and one brought it up and the other agreed. I'm just scared about this, is all. It's just too dangerous there, for anybody.:scared:

And thanks for your reply. I'm just a little nutty tonight, actually thought of deleting this insane thread, but I do appreciate hearing from you and elshiva, two friends of mine on DU. :-)

11. I think he should go...
if he doesn't, McCain will paint him to be unfit for duty as commander in chief, which whether we (including me) peace lovers like it or not, is a major duty of the president. As for his safety, I think that it would not benefit any of the players for something to happen to him. It wouldn't help McCain, because then whoever his replacement is (Hillary) is going to get a sympathy vote. It won't help Iran, because McCain wants to turn it into glass via nukes, it won't help the Shia or the Sunni to harm him as it would strenghten resolve.

In fact the only people I can see even THINKING it might really help them are the fundies who want to bring on the end of the world. At the same time they did something like that, they lose any traction anywhere in this country.

So, there, while it is going to be a possibly fearful campaign, I don't think he is in danger going there from any organized groups who think strategically anyway.

Now some psycho fringe group or even an individual, and that could happen here, there, anywhere.

I have hope for him... and for the country... and for other countries around the world. He is the best chance for peace that I see at the moment.

12. I agree with you on the other points, but I don't think he should go.
He really doesn't need to, to gain any credibility. I think he's being forced into it by the McCain campaign, and the right, but it's not only dangerous there, unless you have the protection that McCain and Lieberman did, and there are some serious nut cases there, as my friends said, like the mercenaries, and who knows who they're working for?:-(

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, would like to accept the simplest and most straightforward explanations, but, with this administration, we have no idea what's going on and what the truth is, and it will take us more than a Barak Obama administration, and I think he's terrific, to recover from the inestimable damage that's been done to this country. ;(

As for Hillary, she's my senator, as you know, and I saw Bill in person, one of my best memories. But I agree that Barak is our best hope for peace, which is why I'm afraid.

9. I agree, LOL.
I may not have remained on DU for over five years if I wasn't crazy...

But DU is my home on-line, and is the main reason I am actually sane, these days, and I'm very grateful. :toast:

The Lounge is the best. I used to post a lot in I/P, which was stressful, so would take a break and retreat to The Lounge, looking for some humor. But The Lounge also voted my dog "Nestle Pet of the Month" in November of 2006, LOL, and gave me invaluable advice on a weekend night when I was desperate because I couldn't get his medicine into him. I love The Lounge, and the people here. :D

Rhiannon:hi:

On edit, here's my dog, also in my sig, and who wouldn't vote for him? :loveya:
