I has a revolutionary baseball idea!
It should be politicized — with the Democratic League and the Republican League. DL clubs can only be in "blue" states, while RL clubs can only be in "red" states.

The new alignment:

Democratic League (16 clubs)

Eastern Division

Baltimore
Boston
NY Mets
Philadelphia
Toronto

Central Division

Chicago Cubs
Chicago White Sox
Detroit
Milwaukee
Minnesota
Pittsburgh

Western Division

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Los Angeles Dodgers
Oakland
San Francisco
Seattle

Republican League (14 clubs)

Eastern Division

Atlanta
Florida
Noo Jork Jankees*
Tampa Bay
Washington

Central Division

Cincinnati
Cleveland
Houston
Kansas City
St. Louis

Western Division

Arizona
Colorado
San Diego**
Texas

*The Jankees, as the prototypical Republican club, go in the Republican League.

**Sandy Eggo, being a "red" city in a "blue" state, goes in the Republican League.

They'll be broadcast only on PBS, so no commercials.

21. Why'd you put Washington in the Red division?
Besides being in population the most liberal voting block in the country..Its gonna be quite bluer come November
(Oh and Cleveland really belongs in Blue as well...That city is pretty liberal as well)

22. SOMEBODY has to be assigned to
the rapidly-shrinking Republican league.

They're only going to have a few teams left after November.

24. Always hating on the Yankees.
 :P ;) :)

They still belong in the DL. I am taking my anger to Washington D.C., and I will walk with my picket signs until they are appropriately placed in the DL.

I might even get arrested. :P

and NOT the Series! "He hits a pop to right", indeed! It took me a few seconds to see that that "pop" was deep enough to score the winning run!! :argh:

There should be a separate steroid division to include San Fransisco (former home of Barry Bonds), Oakland (former home of Jose Canseco), and St. Louis (former home of Mark McGuire).
