Blood work..not sure what to make of this
So I've been on higher doses of Interferon plus the Hydrea (chemotherapy) for a week..The numbers are better (WBC 9.6--Over 10 is abnormal) and platelets are down from 1500 to 1149..
Here's the thing..I'm on really aggressive therapy..and the last time I was on Hydrea the effects were dramatic..I mean I went from 955 to 350 in about a week.. I'm a bit alarmed that it seems although I am responding to the meds, its not as good as I used to respond..and I'm having really horrible fatigue..some nausea.......Time to see what Mayo doc thinks....

1. Perhaps your body is adjusting
to the meds.

Although I have no idea where to go from here. is a higher dose feasible?

4. The body is such a complex system
that it is ludicrous to think that we can do one thing, have the effect we want, and it wont change anything else with possible un-intended consequences.

I feel for you, and I do hope they figure out how to deal with it in a way that leaves you comfortable and not in pain. Pain sucks.

3. At least there's something positive in the results, eh?
