"Hellboy II"--can I see it if I haven't seen the original Hellboy?

1. not really, you can see it w/ no problem

the backstory was basically covered in the Hellboy II trailers where a bunch of american troops find him during world war II.

apparently they give a fast origin during the opening scene - which I missed, but have seen the first movie, so it was ok.

I just saw it for the first time this weekend when FX had it on and it's been on since, lol

but I don't have time to watch it before the sequel. I'll take time to see the sequel in the theaters for the visual/aural experience, but not on a 27" TV. Especially with commercials.
