Journey To The Center Of The Earth- kiddy fare, or enjoyable by all?
I always enjoyed Brendan Fraser's work, although he seems drawn to, shall we say, less intellectually challenging storylines (The Mummy, Looney Tunes Back In Action...). I'm just curious to find out what he managed to do to one of my all-time favorite stories.

BTW: I'm NOT dissing Looney Tunes BIA- it's a hysterically funny romp!

1. I've never seen "Looney Tunes Back In Action"
but always enjoyed "Blast from the Past" as well as both Mummy movies. He's a great actor for comedy :)

I saw most of a TV ad for "Journey to the Center of the Earth" and I think it looks good, even if they may change things (just the idea of it being a family is a major change.) I've never read the book, so I don't know if there were "dinosaurs" at the center of the earth like with the James Mason movie. Considering the popularity of ancient lizards for "monster appeal" in movies these days, we'll probably see them again.

I'm just surprised he's got two movies out almost at the same time. Although it's probably not a first, it seems like it for blockbuster-type movies...

2. It got good reviews on Siskel and Ebert.
Or whatever they're called now that they're not Siskel and Ebert.

Enjoyable for all, they said. Presuming you see the 3-D version, and have a sense of humor about such things.

Fraser has kind of got that Kurt Russell sort of niche, doesn't he? Yet he was fantastic in The Quiet American.
