At the risk of sounding melodramatic....

I need to remove myself from Democratic Underground for a bit.

My initial plan was to pm the people who I am closest to, but I've made so many friends here and I wouldn't want to forget anybody; and I didn't want anyone to worry about my whereabouts.

I've been so lucky to make some great friends here - friends who have awakened me to all sorts of issues, both political and personal, that I've never really given any thought to until now. And so I thank you all for opening my eyes and educating me.

But I've also had an emotionally destructive experience here....so destructive that in order to put it past me, I need to remove myself from this community until such time that I feel emotionally strong enough to come back here and enjoy spending time with you all without the constant reminder of what I've experienced.

Unfortunately, very shortly I will have to turn off my pm feature as well - again to preserve what is left of my sanity.

I've tried really hard to separate the two - meaning the experience, and DU itself - but I'm finding that at this point, it's impossible; so I'm not doing this out of "want", but out of "need".

God, I'm gonna miss you guys - especially the baseball threads. So to KitchenWitch....turtlensue....jasonc....SallyMander....and all my baseball-loving buddies, I leave you with this:
