Get it here, folks. An honest to God, actual email from a 19% -er.
I play bunco with this woman.

Seriously. Pray for me.

Well, Bin Laden was offered to Clinton ... he did not want him! Uhm, say what? Bush would have taken him, for sure! The entire 9/11 attack was planned during Clinton's administration. Clinton was not aware of too much ... too busy "getting head" in the ORAL office and putting his cigar inside Monica!!! There is a whack job, for sure.

Who cares if it the the Pledge or National Anthem? We HAVE to show eachother and especially our allies that we support and back the flag and are unified! It is the patriotic thing to do ... and the right thing to do.

My brother is in the Army Special Forces and has been to Iraq, Quater (Cent Com), and Afganistan several times now. He is the person who gives Bush "the executive summery" on all that is going on. He has top security clearance and has assured me that we are doing exactly what we need to be doing. He has said that all these people and citizens with their opinions have NO idea what is going on ... none of us has security clearance. The military has spin doctors that they plant out there. To purposely give wrong information. The US citizens believe it and get angry ... but it is strategy ... to throw off the enemy. He is happy to serve, be there, and do what is necessary to protect our country. We have to be on the offense. Look what happened when we were on the defense ... 9/11. I come from a strong military family ... my father is in the Navy, my grandfather is a General in the Army, and my other grandfather is an Admiral in the Navy. They ALL support what we are doing. Plus, my brother has top security clearance with his job and rank. There are things that he knows and said that in about 20 years when they are allowed to tell all that they knew and know, then a lot of people will change their minds. Sadam was letting terrorists train in his country. That was a direct violation of act (I forgot the numbers). Plus he mass murdered thousands of people, he also supported the 9/11 attack. Etc. We should have Bin Laden. Again, thank you Clinton for that one! For all we know, Sadam and Bin Laden are dead! That is a possibility.

Bush has done more for this country and it is going to be a sad day when that gentleman leaves office. I could not disagree with you more about Bush and the job he has done. Kevin and I personally have seen great growth and wealth with our finances ... stock market, sales are booming, all 3 of our college funds are paid for, etc. People are having their houses forclosed on b/c partly the market was doing so good, that a lot of people used all that money they were making and over bought and spent! I personally saw many people here do it! You see, the difference with how we did things was ... we choose to take care of ourselves. I don't need the government giving me things and getting me out of trouble. When the market was doing so great, we INVESTED ... NEVER bought things and got in debt. We have no debt ... only our mortgage, and that is almost paid off. So now, we are doing very well ... and are actually going to buy one of those peoples 2nd homes on the water. We took care of our finances and our family, and now we have no worries. I sleep well at night knowing that our men and women who are serving are protecting us from harms way. Everytime I see a military person at a restaurant, I show a tiny bit of gratitude and pay their bill. I always speak to them, too.

Listen, we all have our own ideas and opinions. I am not trying to change your mind or convince you one bit. There is probably a happy medium, actually. However, I personally see the great strides that Bush has made for this country. I'm not too excited for either candidate running. But given the choice that we have, I'm still voting for McCain.

Basically, I got mine, so fuck all of the rest of you. :puke:

Actually, I'd rather be living back in 1995. That was a good year for me.

We may be a bit off topic here...
but I would love to re-live 1999. That was a great year in my life. There are probably things I would do different that may have changed the way my life went after that year... but 1999 was damn near perfect... for me, anyway.

when I told him that Bush had flip-flopped on catching bin Laden - he first said he wanted Osama dead or alive, but then later said it didn't matter (this was an email exchange from 2004...)

The guy's response was that Bush saying bin Laden didn't matter and wasn't important was really a clever strategy to make Osama think the heat was off of him!

pretty sure about that one :D

His bro is in the special forces and they plant disinformation so we all hate what they are doing to throw the enemy off. Hmmm.... maybe, but if true, then they are the best spin doctors evah!!!!

The Clinton had the chance to get bin Laden is such a lame issue. Basically it is a claim of Manjoor whatever his name is that he had bin Laden to turn over. The US didn't do business with individuals at that time, they did it with countries. It could have happened, but it didn't and whatever his name is Manjoor went on to become a Feaux Snooze consultant. Hmm... I don't think he was trustworthy. There is no doubt that terrorism wasn't pursued strongly enough during the Clinton years, however there is more indication that this is the result of Republicans in congress not approving budgets etc. That continued into the Bush years when money was being taken away from the FBI's anti-terrorism activities.

People like your "friend" need to be lobotomized, and re-programmed as migrant workers who don't care about anything.

And the man was actually mocking a letter that PA Senator Robert Casey was reading from a consituent who was describing her economic hardships. He said that this was all part of some media plot to have us think the economy is bad, when in fact it wasn't.

That POS just signed a ridiculous $300 million contract or something like that, to spout uneducated BS on the air for 3 hours a day. And he has the gall to make fun of someone who has run into economically hard times?

Oh, the day the police pull that man over and find a trunk full of pills will be the absolute most satisfying day of my life. And I believe it will happen.

Bush I was responsible for not stopping the first attack on the World Trade Center.

You know, the one that happened right after Clinton took office. But unlike Bush II, Clinton caught and prosecuted the ones responsible for the first attack, and also managed not to attack a country that had nothing to do with the attack.

28. My reply:
But, here's the differnce between you and me, Malia. Even though we are doing well financially, this country is not. This country is absolutely headed in the wrong direction. People are losing everything. Unemployment is up. WAY up.

I come from a strong military family as well, Malia. And, if McCain is elected, which I hope to God doesn't happen, would you be willing to send Hunter to Iraq for Bush's lies?

Because there is no way I would send my child, or want to send anyone's child to die for a lie.

Your brother has to tell you that things are going well. To say differently would be treasonous.

If this administration felt so strongly about going to Iraq to remove Saddam, which was a ruse to get contracts for Halliburton and KBR, why didn't they feel it important enough to adequately equip the troops? Because Bush and the other members of PNAC were determined to invade Iraq for the oil and reconstruction.

It's good of you to purchase lunch for a military person, but perhaps a better resource would be not to put them in harm's way foolishly in the first place.

And, Clinton didn't refuse Bin Laden. Again, snopes is your friend.

with adequate resources to care for those who are called on to defend our country, wouldn't it? I'm sure this never crosses her mind. After all, it's a "volunteer" military, therefore, they get what they get. (And yeah, I've heard this talking point out of another RW'er.)

Malia might want to think on the fact that it all can change in the blink of an eye, and it has for many we know. Then again, with someone like her, she wouldn't have the cognitive reasoning to come up with that eventuality, would she?

Jeez, Midlo, I'm so sorry you have to deal with someone like this. :scared:

Edited on Thu Jul-17-08 01:13 PM by PeterU
A dumb, braindead freeper's brother is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

Needless to say, I got my whole fam to vote for Obama, although my parents threaten not to if Hillary is the VP.

43. Yes, my brother has top secret security clearance and I'm gonna brag about it.
:eyes:

Usually those with that kind of security clearance or are related to people who have it don't go bragging about it to others.

That should be good for a laugh.

64. This is amazing
and yet I know people like this, they are in a world of their own, brainwashed and you cannot penetrate them, even with proof.

The thing that saddens me the most about someone like this is that they truly don't care about other people. They don't share, they don't empathize with anyone else and they are totally self centered, never helping anyone else in need.

But you know what, sometimes reading something like this is a wake up call to us and a reminder of what we're dealing with, what we have to overcome.

I feel for you having to spend any time at all with her.:hi:

Take your pick of which story you want to send Der 19%-er who believes Bush was competent to handle terrorism.

Here are a few fun ones (to find the webpage these are listed on since I can't post a URL linking to it since it is related to 9/11 google the phrase "Complete 911 Timeline" then click on "Key Warnings(94)":

August 2001: Russia Warns US of Suicide Pilots Russian President Vladimir Putin warns the US that suicide pilots are training for attacks on US targets. The head of Russian intelligence Nikolai Patrushev also later states, “We had clearly warned them” on several occasions, but they “did not pay the necessary attention.” A Russian newspaper on September 12, 2001, will claim, “Russian Intelligence agents know the organizers and executors of these terrorist attacks. More than that, Moscow warned Washington about preparation to these actions a couple of weeks before they happened.” Interestingly, the article will claim that at least two of the militants were Muslim radicals from Uzbekistan.

Early August 2001: Britain Warns US Again; Specifies Multiple Airplane Hijackings Britain gives the US another warning about an al-Qaeda attack. The previous British warning on July 16, 2001 (see July 16, 2001), was vague as to method, but this warning specifies multiple airplane hijackings. This warning is said to reach President Bush.

August 23, 2001: Mossad Reportedly Gives CIA List of Terrorists Living in US; at Least Four 9/11 Hijackers Named According to German newspapers, the Mossad gives the CIA a list of 19 terrorists living in the US and say that they appear to be planning to carry out an attack in the near future. It is unknown if these are the 19 9/11 hijackers or if the number is a coincidence. However, four names on the list are known, and these four will be 9/11 hijackers: Nawaf Alhazmi, Khalid Almihdhar, Marwan Alshehhi, and Mohamed Atta. The Mossad appears to have learned about this through its “art student spy ring.” Yet apparently, this warning and list are not treated as particularly urgent by the CIA and the information is not passed on to the FBI. It is unclear whether this warning influenced the decision to add Alhazmi and Almihdhar to a terrorism watch list on this same day, and if so, why only those two. Israel has denied that there were any Mossad agents in the US.

January 20-September 10, 2001: President Bush Briefed on Al-Qaeda over 40 Times National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice later testifies to the 9/11 Commission that in the first eight months of Bush’s presidency before 9/11, “the president receives at these more than 40 briefing items on al-Qaeda, and 13 of those in response to questions he or his top advisers posed.” The content of the warnings in these briefings are unknown. However, CIA Director George Tenet claims that none of the warnings specifically indicates terrorists plan to fly hijacked commercial aircraft into buildings in the US. Counterterrorism “tsar” Richard Clarke will later emphasize, “Tenet on 40 occasions in… morning meetings mentioned al-Qaeda to the president. Forty times, many of them in a very alarmed way, about a pending attack.” These briefings are normally given in person by CIA Director George Tenet, and are usually attended by Vice President Cheney and National Security Adviser Rice. In the Clinton administration, up to 25 officials recieved the PDB. But in the Bush adminisration before 9/11, this was sharply reduced to only six people (see After January 20, 2001). Other top officials have to make due with an Senior Executive Intelligence Brief generally released one day later, which is similar to the PDB but often contains less information (see August 7, 2001). <9/11 Commission, 7/24/2004, pp. 256, 533>

January 31, 2001: Bipartisan Commission Issues Final Report on Terrorism, but Conclusions Are Ignored
Gary Hart (left) and Warren Rudman (right) testify before a Senate committee in 2002. The final report of the US Commission on National Security/21st Century, co-chaired by former Senators Gary Hart (D) and Warren Rudman (R) is issued. The bipartisan report was put together in 1998 by then-President Bill Clinton and then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich. Hart and Rudman personally brief National Security Adviser Rice, Defense Secretary Rumsfeld, and Secretary of State Powell on their findings. The report has 50 recommendations on how to combat terrorism in the US, but all of them are ignored by the Bush administration. According to Senator Hart, Congress begins to take the commission’s suggestions seriously in March and April, and legislation is introduced to implement some of the recommendations. Then, “Frankly, the White House shut it down… The president said ‘Please wait, We’re going to turn this over to the vice president’… and so Congress moved on to other things, like tax cuts and the issue of the day.” The White House announces in May that it will have Vice President Cheney study the potential problem of domestic terrorism despite the fact that this commission had just studied the issue for 2 1/2 years. Interestingly, both this commission and the Bush administration were already assuming a new cabinet level National Homeland Security Agency would be enacted eventually, even as the public remained unaware of the term and the concept. Hart is incredulous that neither he nor any of the other members of this commission are ever asked to testify before the 9/11 Commission. The 9/11 Commission will later make many of the same recommendations. However, the Commission will barely mention the Hart/Rudman Commision in their final report, except to note that Congress appointed it and failed to follow through on implementing the recommendations. <9/11 Commission, 7/24/2004, pp. 107, 479>
