100. I keep coming back to this, because I look for something to say. But I'm always at a loss for words.

I've read the comment, and agree that it was a particularly cruel thing to say.

I don't know quite how to say this. Even under the best of circumstances, (which troubles me to suggest there are ever any "good" circumstances to lose a spouse, child, sibling, etc.), you don't just "Get Over It" in a relatively short period of time.

And my gawd, it hasn't even been a year! That's when one has to survive all those "first" anniversaries, birthdays, holiday's, special occasions, etc, process the grief, you get the idea.

What has really been difficult for me to find words for, is that I feel, (actually know for a fact), that when there are particularly tragic mitigating factors to the death of someone so close, there are SO many other issues added to the grieving process, and it's just a LOT harder to deal with, and often with more issues to deal with when you are even weaker, and have to be able to handle MORE.

It's very difficult for me to articulate this, because I do not wish to diminish or discount the legitimate grief felt by anyone that loses a close loved one, under any circumstances. That is all very legitimate loss and grief, and certainly worth the sympathy and compassion of others. And a year is a spit in the ocean!

That's what PARTICULARLY bothers me about the nasty comments I saw in that blog. This person is not only unwilling to allow an adequate amount of time for a natural death, but is also opposed to considering any deference or compassion when especially tragic or mitigating circumstances are involved.

My last point, and to me a rather ironic one, is that writing out your feelings, (blogging, if that is your avenue) is actually a VERY HEALTHY, and therapeutic way of working through your feelings. Particularly, in a grief situation like this.

I do hope that "anonymous" person, who I gather is a DU member, is watching this thread and learning something. I agree with your decision not to out the person publicly. Not that she deserves any protection, but it is surely a demonstration of class on your part.
