The best movie I've seen... maybe ever..
I just finished watching Once, and I must say.. it may very well be the best movie I've ever seen. I've certainly never seen another one like it. It's a musical, but the music flows as smoothly, maybe more so, as the dialogue. The score is bloody brilliant, the acting poignant, the story tragically hopeful. I feel like I can relate to this story very much. Who hasn't had a brief encounter, a momentary but intense romance, if even nothing physical ever happened? It's no wonder that it won an Oscar for Best Song... I'm just surprised it didn't win for Best Score or a Grammy for Best Soundtrack. This movie is proof that Hollywood, famous actors, and millions of dollars don't make the best film, if they ever did.

What's the best movie you've seen lately?

1. The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
It's a documentary about the cutthroat world of competitive video gaming.

It's SO EXCELLENT. It's everything a documentary feature should be.

Once is a remarkable film.

16. one more fact
Hansgard Irglova are dating, and he has stated that he has loved her for years. It's interesting, because he is 37 and she is 19, and was only 17 during filming. Their romance bloomed on set, and the director stated that the romantic spark was undeniable between the two. It's a little creepy that this older man loved a teenager for years, but Europeans are weird, so whatever.

17. Run Lola Run. Was fascinating. Never seen a film quite like that
with three different endings and such focus on one character's actions. I felt I was there.

20. That song from it, "When Your Mind's Made Up" is a permanent brain groove.
Loved the movie & the music.
Another music-drenched film I loved recently is "Great World of Sound."
