Just back from my 1st trip to Los Angeles.

I waited until my mid-40's to make these Startingly Obvious Observations:

1. People are, on average, noticeably thinner in LA than in Seattle.
2. Women are, on average, noticeably more attractive in LA than in Seattle.
3. Plastic surgery is, on average, noticeably more popular in LA than in Seattle.
4. Driving sucks no matter where you are.

But I can't NOT notice the women. It's in the genes. I especially noticed the dark-haired waitress at the Village Idiot on Melrose!

Also, Venice Beach is the skeeviest beach on the West Coast. Ick.

And Venice Beach has a great pier to watch surfers from. (And did you get away from the ocean a few blocks and see the canals? Drop dead gorgeous zillion dollar homes.

i liked venice but the boardwalk was not its best feature.
