Watermelon Salad

I made a really good water melon salad today:

watermelon

Feta

mint chiffonade

Lemon

Pepper


Try it sometime..its yummy

1. What is mint chiffonade?

I would have never thought of feta and watermelon together, though I do like them both a lot.

Chiffonade is a cooking technique in which herbs or leafy green vegetables (such as spinach and basil) are cut into long, thin strips. This is generally accomplished by stacking leaves, rolling them tightly, then cutting across the rolled leaves with a sharp knife, producing fine ribbons.

4. I went on a date tonight. I ordered the crab cake.....I thought it was

on a bed of tomatoes.......but it was watermelon. very refreshing on a hot summer day. And I had that dish at the Cambridge Hotel.....they claim they are the originator of "Pie ala Mode". And I believe it.

7. Watermelon salsa is pretty good too.

You make it with the same stuff you use for regular salsa--except use watermelon in place of tomatoes. You need to let the flavors marry for a while--just like when you make regular salsa. Tastes great and is less acid that the regular stuff.

BTW, those lime flavored chips are awesome with it!
