What kind of a duck is Daffy Duck?
My friend and I went birding yesterday and we went through his bird book on North American birds, looking for a duck that looked like Daffy Duck. We couldn't find one. Do you believe it?
Could Daffy be an immigrant from another continent and that's why his species didn't appear in the bird?
Is he a hybrid?
I can't figure this out.

3. A black duck a/k/a the mustache fiend
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daffy_Doodles

She was an acrobat's daughter
She swung by her teeth from a noose
Until one fine day, her bridgework gave way
And she flew through the air like a goose.

And then there's the time Bugs animated Daffy

10. American black duck
There's a species called American black duck but it looks like a female mallard -- not really black like Daffy.
Then there's the black scoter but it has black legs and feet, not orange like Daffy.
That's why I'm so confused.

There is nothing about Donald that's even remotely creative. Look closely, donald wears diapers too.

28. Everyone knows.... he is Porkey's Duck..
Origin.....from Wikipedia...

Daffy first appeared on April 17, 1937, in Porky's Duck Hunt, directed by Tex Avery and animated by Bob Clampett. The cartoon is a standard hunter/prey pairing for which Leon Schlesinger's studio was famous, but Daffy (barely more than an unnamed bit player in this short) represented something new to moviegoers: an assertive, combative protagonist, completely unrestrainable. As Clampett later recalled, "At that time, audiences weren't accustomed to seeing a cartoon character do these things. And so, when it hit the theaters it was an explosion. People would leave the theaters talking about this daffy duck."
