Free Paul McCartney concert tonight in Quebec City
Edited on Sun Jul-20-08 03:30 PM by glarius
I thought I would let you American DUers know that tonight, in Quebec City, Paul McCartney is having a free concert to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of that fair city. I don't believe your media has mentioned anything about it....it seems the only time they mention Canada is if something unpleasant happens. Any of you living close to the border may still be able to make it in time...if you're interested.
:toast:

2. Paul McCartney's in jail?
Is this like the Free John Sinclair concert that John Lennon organized?

3. Is this a joke?....Sorry I don't get it.
McCartney is having a free concert in Quebec city. This is the only time this year he has scheduled a concert in North America. :hi:

14. "Free (Insert name here)" is what people say when someone is in jail and people want them out.
So the joke is that a Free Paul McCartney concert would be a concert in support of releasing him from jail.

Not as amasing when you explain it, haha.

4. That was my first thought too.
I was like "Why would anyone want to get that washed up, lame-o, douche out of jail?"

7. Are we talking about the same Paul McCartney....of the Beattles?
Edited on Sun Jul-20-08 03:48 PM by glarius
Since when was he in jail? There seems to be something I'm missing here.

8. One and the same.
I think you're not catching on to our misinterpretation of your thread title. When we read "Free Paul McCartney" we interpreted it as a concert making an effort to raise awareness and get him out of jail (as if he were really in jail). But, what you meant was "Paul McCartney concert for free".

10. He was in jail, once....
In Japan, in the 70s. Got caught with Mary Jane. The other prisoners forced him to sing for them, ha ha...

13. See answer #8 and my answer to him. They were making a joke.
The way I worded this thread, it looks like I'm saying he's in jail and needs to be freed. What I was trying to convey is that McCartney is putting on a concert in Quebec city and it's for free.

12. Jealous, jealous, jealous. Duct tape forever, Sir Paul; I love "The Rouge Vert Show."
Quebec City and Montreal are on my top five list of places I must go to before I die.

Keep your brindille on the ice.
