In the past week I've seen Kung Fu Panda, Wall-E and Mamma Mia.
All were good and worth seeing. I can't believe I've been to that many movies in a year, much less in a week.

And somehow I still haven't seen The Hulk or the new Batman movie. None of my movie buddies have wanted to see those yet. x(

Come on! Movie Theaters are air conditioned. Somebody come with me to the movies!

3. There were a whole lot of shirtless hot guys in Mamma Mia!
:9

Lots of really good eyecandy in that movie. And it was really funny too. (Though, the dubbing needed more work)

I doubt there will be much eye-candy in either Batman or Hulk. :P

2. I would if I could, Thom!
I want to see all those you've seen plus Batman and the Mummy when it comes out. Interestingly, some guys at church were arguing, well, debating, during coffee hour. ONe thought Mark Hamill should've played the Joker. This caught me by surprise, but he explained that Hamill is the Joker in an animated Batman series. This guy insisted that Hamill is teh awesome when it comes to being the Joker's voice.

4. Mark Hamill now has the Definitive joker voice!
I don't know if he's nearly good enough as an actor to handle the role on-screen, but his voice work will always earn him a legion of loyal fans. :)

I rarely pass the one down by the Empire State Building.

11. Back when I had some disposable income I was perhaps worth envying.
:P
I used to be in there every week. But I haven't been able to spend any money in there in quite a while. After all the extra cost of healthcare and accomodating my disability, what little money I have gets saved up for my occasional trips to get out of the city and visit people. I rarely buy stuff for myself anymore.

15. I buy all my back issues there, can't beat their prices.
They get the best writers and artists in for signings. Next month Mark Millar and Tony Harris will be there.

I practically lived at the theater!!

17. I loved Iowa! I'm planning to at least retire there, if I don't get back before then.
I didn't find it bland at all. The town where I lived had better integration between the Latino minority and the European majority than you find here. And people were better-read and more interesting. And friendlier.

18. It's $6 here, and I have to swallow hard every time I go.
And they were first run movies in Iowa, too. The kiddie combo, which is what I always got, cost more than the movie.

14. The day I can't work anymore
bring a truck and come get me. :7

I'll move out there and try to survive on disability. You certainly can't do that in NYC.

21. Howdy Bullwinkel925
:hi:

Mamma Mia was very sweet, but you can tell they rushed production. There are also a couple of plot wholes you have to overlook. But despite that I insist on liking it. :)

And I desperately want that bartender to be interested in me. :9

I can see why neo-cons are so up in arms about Wall E. The ideas that we could be destroying the earth, and that people are being pacified and controlled by corporations are ideas they pretty much have to oppose.

22. saw Mamma Mia yesterday with 9 of my good friends from church
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 02:52 PM by yellowdogintexas
we sort of threw together an outing at the last minute, then went out for wine afterwards. It was much fun (edited to add we really did love the movie)

I may take myself to see Wall-E on Tuesday; Movie Tavern has matinee prices all day on Tuesdays. $5.00

24. I may go see it again because InfoManiac hasn't seen it.
I said I'd go see it again with her if she'd go see Batman or Hulk with me. You could join us on a movie trip occasionally if you want. We usually go on Friday evenings. :)

Your kid brother will love this movie. If you invite him to go see it with you he'll have a good time. :)
