People, it's "lose," not "loose."

You lose a tooth, or you have a loose tooth. You do not "loose" a tooth.

The reason I'm posting this is that I see it all over the web, and I'm starting to see it at DU, too, though not so much. I just now saw it on a local news graphic: you will "loose" your deposit if the Cubs don't end up in the World Series.

Just a pet peeve.

"loose" has a loose o and when it falls out (and is lost) it becomes lose. I hate to admit that I have to think of that almost every time I use one or the other word but wtf it works.

My parents are retired teachers and when I asked them about it recently they thought I was kidding. Even my dad, a hopeless speller, doesn't botch that one.
