Do you live among felons? |
|
http://www.felonspy.com/search.htmlSomebody convicted of 2nd degree attempted manslaughter lives the next street over from me. I've got to make sure not to piss him off.

who attempted to solicit sex from a minor.
However since it doesn't give the dates of when these offenses happened, so for all I know he was 18 and she was 17 when it happened and the felon label has stuck since then. There's a 19 year old a few streets over from there with the same charge. Since both are allowed to live within spitting distance of the local high school, I'm guessing they weren't convicted of anything to put them on any kind of child molester registry or anything.
I'm not too worried about the septegenarian a few streets over who has a record of robbery... :P

And why I saw a few hispanic last names even though this area seems to be populated by 90% white people, 8% middle asian people, and 2% black people. :P
Seriously, small town. I've seen a half dozen asians and two black people the entire time I lived here. Was a bit disconcerting when I first moved here, I'm not used to that.

6. I have no idea if my neighbors are felons |

Since our country only requires sex offenders to register where they live, these must be the only dangerous people out there.
I know I feel safer not knowing if my neighbor is a mass murder.

and apparently there are two who work within spitting distance of the local high school here. One of them for just plain rape, not just statuatory. :scared: Now that I know this registry is fake, I'm kinda hoping that one I looked at was too.

39. Oh great. I live in Pedophile Central. |

According to these folks. I guess I should be glad I don't have small children.
I tend to doubt their accuracy though. Right now I live in a mixed lower/working class/college student neighborhood (i.e. cheap), so it doesn't surprise me that I probably have some former prisoners as neighbors - it also has a lot of cops living there. But I used to live in a pricey neighborhood indeed. One of the most horrific child abductions/rapes ever committed locally occurred one block away. Guy abducted elementary school girls and chained them in his shed for weeks. I mean really nice house, with a huge lot, so no one ever heard the muffled screams.
It's not on that map.

I checked my parents' address, and there are loads of people around there! That's saying a lot, because they live outside of a small town on a dirt road (though I guess it's just becoming more suburbia now). The 70 year old man who's conviction was robbery in the 2nd degree doesn't concern me, but the rapists and stalkers do! :(

Oh, that's rich.... What a bizarre sense of humour to do that.
A few years ago, some friends made me "sex offender trading cards" of the sex offenders in their neighbourhood, from some state or county website. I assumed that this was similar. It's sort of more funny that it's not.
