Hate the ideals, not the person. Not all republicans have republican ideals (RINO - Republican in name only). Yes there are raging ideologues that I hate (many good ones listed in this thread), but it's a pretty broad brush to paint when you say "I hate all XXXX". Being a dem isn't about hating a certain group of people, it's about promoting progressive ideals that will with luck help everyone. (yes, even help those dreaded repubs whether they like it or not)

Have you met all republicans? My wife is one, she's voting Dem this year. (and somehow I still manage to love her). My mother is a Repub, my father is a Dem, yet somehow they've managed to stay married for 30+ years. You'd be amazed at how many Repubs aren't even very political.

I have dem friends, I have Repub friends, and I argue politics with both. And while I can get in heated discussions with many of my Repub friends (heck, look in GD2004 if you want to see heated with Dem friends), I know that they're good people and they care just as much about the country as I do, they merely have an approach I don't agree with.

But I don't hate them, I disagree with them. And those are different things. There are lots of things that I don't agree with everyone on. I'm also a Deist. If I only hung out with people of my religion (arguably even more important than politics), then I wouldn't' be married, or have any friends.

Do you get what I'm saying?

Freepers on the other hand, get no mercy from me. They come here to fight and I hold nothing back. (and they tend to be the idealouges)
