Milorganite
Has anyone ever used this? It is an organic fertilizer. But it is also supposed to be effective at keeping flowers, vegetables etc. from being eaten by animals. All of the flowers I have planted this season are all eaten down to the dirt and I don't want to put out any hazardous substances. Someone recommended this to me, I think it is iron based. Just wondering if anyone has tried it.

1. I just made some Milorganite.
(I hope my response won't get deleted ;))

I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I just went to the restroom. Milorganite is made by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District from treated human waste material. It's not only an organic fertilizer, it's MY organic fertilizer! :D

And yes, it's a damn good fertilizer. You'll be well-served to give it a try. And, who knows? Maybe your garden will be happy to have a little piece of Hedges in it.

2. Thank you for the link
I hope I can find it at Home Depot. And I do hope it keeps the critters away without keeping everyone else away !!! :)

4. Looks like a lot of good info in that link
Thank you ! :)
It's hard finding something that will do the job but not harm the environment, your pets or the other animals. I was going to try mothballs (after trying two other safe sprays, no luck) and then I think I read here that they are toxic. :dilemma:

5. Walter's show is on in ATL on Saturday mornings
bright and early and unfortunately gives me (well, my wife) a ton of ideas on how to spend our weekend in the yard and garden. His website is chock full of great information and he actually responds to emails (well, one of his people probably does). His site focuses more on things in our little region down here so, judging by your username, some of it might not be AS relevant for you!

Good luck and happy dirty hands!

6. Actually, I love gardening too
That is good to know because we don't really have too many shows like that in this area. I don't think I can think of one. This Milorganite must be hard to find, I tried a few places today, no luck.
:hi:
