She played Sophia on one of my favorite shows (golden girls) and I will miss her dearly.

1. I just heard the news...it was my departed mother's favorite shows
I heard she passed from advanced dementia. Maybe they meant when she passed she HAD advanced dementia.

Anyway, yes, she will be missed by many.

Peace to her and her family.

2. Yes she will.
She was very memorable, and by all accounts, a real nice lady.

It was great she got such fame and success late in life - sad that her dementia robbed her of enjoying much of it.

3. that crazy old brod will be missed
but so will the many other thousands of people that died yesterday, including Iraqi and Afghani civilians. How about we stop focusing so much on one person's death. I hate seeing tv coverage of "famous" people's deaths. When you're dead, who cares? You are now no longer existent, and the worms will soon devour your dead flesh.

4. What a dickish response

I didn't know the thousands of people who died yesterday. But I did "know" Estelle Getty, at least I knew her work and admired it, and she brought me many hours of happiness. I'm allowed to acknowledge her death without some lame, scolding Debbie Downer pointing out that other people died, too. You think I'm unaware of that fact?
