Rescue Kitties, as promised.
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 04:07 PM by LeftyMom
There are four- I only got pics of three, the other is a bit shy so far- I'll edit her in or post her separately once she comes out from under my bed. They're all about eight weeks old. If you're somewhere within driving distance of Sacramento and want a kitty or know somebody who does, my PM box is open and I deliver for the low low price of free! They're doing fine on kitten food, and have had a preventative deworming administered. They'll get a good bath followed by some Advantage later today once they've settled in a bit.

The little black one is a girl, and the most outgoing so far.

The tabby with a little more black on her coat is also a girl, and is just a doll.

The tabby with more silver is a boy, and he's cute as a button.

The whitish patchy kitten is elusive.

That's about it. So far, Dora and Piglet seem slightly frightened of them, and Trin's just looking a little disgusted at the idea of more cats in the house.

3. If Advantage is anything like Frontline, you won't want to bathe them first.
I've never used Advantage, so I don't know about how it works, but with Frontline, the skin's oils are necessary for the fleakiller to spread out over the skin. Bathing beforehand dramatically reduces the efficacy of the product.

And ZOMGZ SO CUTE! We have some little bits here, too, but ours are only 4 weeks old. :hi:

4. Then they'll get some in a day or three.

They need baths ASAP because they have some klingons in the neutral zone, iykwim.

I already gave them some capstar, so that should take care of the fleas for now.

14. That's true about the Frontline. It takes the natural oils on their skin to work properly.
My vet always tells me to time the dog's grooming, (which includes a bath), a week or so before I do his flea treatment.

5. AWWWWW. I haven't had a kitten in such a long time.
We got our first cat as a kitten 28 years ago. Since then, they've all been rescues. We love them all, but I'd love to have a kitten again.

Thank you so much for taking them in and finding them good homes. You're a sweetheart.

15. Gawd, I'd love a new baby kitty.
Right now, my one dog and two cats are constantly underfoot, and I am certain they are plotting to kill me. Did I mention all the xrays, MRI's, stitches, and treatment I had to get a few months back?

I stepped on a cat in the middle of the night when I got up to go to the biffy. I swear that little fart got in my path on the way on purpose just for attention. I lifted my foot so as not to hurt him, lost my balance, and fell flat on my face. Broke my glasses, split my eyebrow open, and broke my eye orbit. Among other things. Goddamned little shit! It's a good thing I love him.

If you'd like to deliver one to Omaha, I'll take one. (But, please say no! LOL!) I wanted O'Mally from bertha, and she said he was already spoken for. ;(

Thanks for saving some fur buddies.

:hi:

16. I'd drive one to Nevada, Oregon, perhaps Utah, but Nebraska is right out.
Even if I had a few days to spare, the gas is not in the budget.

25. She's a sweet little thing.
She's looks a bit like a lynx, and I think she's going to have a longer coat than the others- her fur is very soft and wispy.

Thank goodness it's virtually geographically impossible or my resolve would weaken until it caved. Total hull breach.

She's so sweet. *sigh* Please give her a big ol smooch from her Auntie Zing.
