Little Ms. E.G. just asked me for some more "Weche"...
That's "Leche" translated to adult speak and "Milk" translated to english. Mrs. E.G. is from Puerto Rico and I am a gringo...so we speak "Spanglish" at home...what other cute thing do you remember your little ones calling everyday items?

2. Milk, according to MG Jr., was "mookie"
Food of any sort was "um". (Context: "Want some um. Hungee.")

Sleeping was "seeps".

Throwing up was "barshing".

And yes, they're all part of the MG family lexicon now. In fact, some of my niece's vocabulary from 19 years ago is still in play, namely "My do it!" (spouted in stubborn protest).

7. Little Ms EG
real name is Nicole or Nicky for short, but her brother (14 months older) could not pronounce Nicky, it was Ninni and so it has stuck throughout the whole family!

BTW...she calls herself..."Kicky"

E.g....No Alex (pronounced Ayex)...it's Kicki's!

Are you an off-the-Mayflower blueblood? Because a nickname like that would fit in perfectly at the country club! :D

3. My daughter called cookies "tookies"
It was a sad day when she pronounced them correctly.

My son could not say words like "girl" or "squirrel." It came out like "gwill" or "skwill." We used to try to bait him to say "girl squirrel." "Honey, I think that squirrel has some babies with her. Do you think it's a boy squirrel or a girl squirrel?" ..."Dats a gwill skwill."

So freakin' cute.

14. "Holdja" - my nephew thought that's what one said when they wanted to be picked up
cause we would all say "Let me hold ya" and pick him up, so he thought "hold ya" meant to be picked up.

Hey- it made sense.

15. Ha! Cute. My daughter would say "Holdyou!" and hold her arms up.
Same reason -- We'd say "Do you want me to hold you?" :)
