I thought I might restore this car some day, but now it will require significant body work. Don't think I'll be restoring it in this lifetime! :(

9. It's a 1921 Conn.
When I bought it, it had been lacquered blue. Yes, "blue." My friends used to refer to it as "Big Blue." I had it redone in the early 1990s and had the blue lacquer taken off (it was beginning to flake). It had been originally coated with silver, so now it looks really nice!

And plays very well, too! :D

10. My 10 yo started out on Alto one last year but he wants to switch to tenor. Glad he didn't
pick bass. I think it would weigh almost as much as he does. LOL

That's a cool pic of you, there. Really sorry about the car. :(

11. Thanks...
Really sorry about the car.

I bought it from the original owner in 1986. I fully wanted to restore it, but over the decades the rust has become a problem. I guess one shouldn't plan on restoring cars unless they have the time, place, and money to do so.

Anyway, I know a couple of guys who restore old cars as a hobby. Maybe I just give it to one of them some day...

13. Yeah, hubby and he boys want to get a car to restore but we don't have a garage or
the extra money. :( I really wish we did. They would have so much fun. For now, they do models instead. :)

12. Not to be harsh... but isn't parking your '65 Chevelle under a tree a dumb idea?

14. Oaks do that when they get old. My sister had a 600 year old oak in
the park by her house. It began to rot from the inside. And as each branch was the size of a tree the city people said it had to be all cut down. They left a stump about 12 fee high with no branches on it. Sorry you lost your car.

16. Wow! I have my 65 wagon indoors...but it is NAKED :-)
Waiting for the right time to primer and paint.

Sorry to hear...don't sell her. It's like owning history...when your car was new, think of the things that were going on! Wait and take your time...good luck!
