1. A broken leg, a player in jail, and a fan in the hospital - pretty insane |
|
If this becomes standard, baseball may have to revise the 160 game season - or else switch to a last-man-alive format...

6. The story is wrong about the broken leg |
|
Guzman wasn't injured in the brawl. He and Castillo, the jailed pitcher, collided while going for a ground ball in the first inning, before all hell broke loose.
I'm listening to the archived radio broadcast right now.

2. Hitting the fan was an accident, though. |
|
He was throwing the ball at the opposing team's dugout, and it hit a fan. Which...doesn't say much for his skills with a baseball, but at least he didn't PURPOSELY throw it at a fan.

I saw him throw, just before the pile on. I think he was aiming at a Dayton player too.
I admit, I like a brawl. However, what led up to this one really seemed like the field was cursed.

4. "Intent follows the bullet." |
|
If you throw meaning to hit someone, doesn't matter if you hit the wrong person. He purposely threw it to injure someone, and he goddam well injured someone. That ain't no accident, kids.

7. That fuck should be done for good. |
|
I dunno what kind of jail time he (should) get, but he has no place in sports. If he had hit my wife/children/whatever, he'd be lucky with jail.

5. The looks on the managers faces when he throws the ball is priceless |
|
They literally went from being spittin' mad to being grotesqly horrified.
