Is it just me, or have they upped the volume again on blaring commercials?

My eardrums practically bleed anymore on some of these commercials, and it always seems to be the same ones. I know some of the newer TV's have the ability to control volume levels, but I don't exactly have the money to spend. Has anyone else noticed this?

Not only the volume, but the number. We counted the commercials (muted) one evening last week and got up to 8 before we gave up. TNT seems to have equal parts program and commercial on weekends.
Also, switching channels seems to land you in another set of commercials, so I assume they coordinate times.

I was watching the Mad Men marathon the other day and couldn't even hear the show when I adjusted it to the commercials.

BUT, I work for a TV station. Someone called in the other day complaining about this. Apparently, it's an engineering problem and not done on purpose. I always thought it was a ploy to get our attention. Our GM immediately called our chief engineer to get it fixed. So, if it's a problem, maybe take the time to write the station. They might appreciate it.
