Black Bean Brownies.

Taking them over to the campaign office tomorrow to have as dessert after we blockwalk for our Legislative District Rep who is running for re-election.

1. I've tasted those! They are really good!
You cannot tell they have black beans in them, IMHO.

3. Correct! I put lots of vanilla in them and my recipe calls for 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
and a teaspoon of instant coffee or espresso powder.

They are really tasty.

9. well the Dan Barrett campaign workers liked them. I made them to take
for dessert after our precinct block walking adventures this morning. I may freeze them for when my husband gets back in town so I won't eat them.

6. Weight Watchers, all foods have point values
Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 11:30 PM by yellowdogintexas
it is calculated using the total calories, fat grams and fiber grams, and number of servings.

Their website has a recipe builder that allows you to plug in the ingredients and it runs up the point value for you. They give you a little slide rule thingy that you can take to the store and use to calculate from product labels if you are not certain how many point to count for something.

Lots of foods have zero points too.

edited to add: I lost 60 pounds with Weight Watchers. Points are everything

5. Very interesting. Black bean and brownie doesn't go together...
in my mind, but I know how things like this can be really surprisingly good.

I hope that they go over well tomorrow. :)
