We named her Glinda because she was built in Kansas. We gays like the "Wizard of Oz" references.

Anywho .... she's a 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid. The first one to be delivered to our dealer and probably one of the few in LA.

I wish we didn't have to have the front plates, cuz it messes up the view of the grill.

4. At first I thought .... a white car????

When we ordered it or requested one we wanted what they call "White Suede" and it was the first on in. I thought it would be a bit darker. But when we saw, we fell in love with it.

and we don't have a garage. Even when we did at the condo, I always washed my car once a week. I like a clean set of wheels. Plus I actually like to go to the car wash. I have ever since I was a kid.

Ours is on order----dealer said it would take about 4 months, so it should be in by October. I think we got the same model---I love the chrome--ours is black, though.

I love this car. It's my husbands car, but I'll get my turn next year. Prius!

We put in our order about a month ago. We had one show up at another dealer, but were not happy with them. Plus it had the navigation and was $2000 over the sticker. We got word from the dealer in Glendale and opted to not go for the other one. We don't need the navigation system anyway.

My wife, who was "built" in Kansas, will be getting a new (probably Civic) this fall. Our Gym room is a tribute to ToTo and the gang with posters etc. Ya just can't lose with a Wizard of OZ Reference. We hope youall and Glinda have a wonderful and safe 100K!!!!

I drive a 2005 Escape Hybrid AWD. I preordered almost a year in advance and got it in May 2005 when Ford finally released the AWD models to the non-coastal states.

Congrats! If it's half as good as mine has been, you're going to love it.
