Kitty had kittens but I don't know where.
Was pregnant last night, gone all day and just showed up, she is no longer pregnant. Is eating and drinking water but she won't return to where ever she had the kittens. She keeps panting with her mouth agape. Is this normal? Any suggestions? If I find the kittens should I move them to a safer location immediately? I think she had them either under neighbors deck or in the woods.

1. Call your vet.
If she's panting, it's possible one died and got stuck, and she's still trying to push it out.

2. Oh shit.
We found them actually, she had them in the neighbors log pile. There are 6 of them. Will call vet.

4. We took in a pregnant stray once who had seven and they all survived
She was tiny, too. Poor thing's tummy was dragging the ground before she finally had them.

6. That's good news. Can you bring them in and set up a nest box or something for her?
She might just be exhausted.

7. Already done.
Box with nice soft towels and we already moved th kittens. No objections from momma kitty. I think that's what it is, she is exhausted. I went back to the wood pile to see if there were any stragglers that I missed and when I did she followed me and got back in that little nest. So I was thinking that maybe she wasn't done. No kittens were left behind and I left and she followed me back and went to tend to the kittens. I think she will be alright. Thanks for your help.

:hi: :-)

8. We had a cat once when I was a teenager that had no mothering instinct
She dropped the kittens, one by one, all over our carport and behind it. We found dead baby kittens
everywhere. It was so sad. She also was panting and behaving strangely. I've never forgotten it--and that was probably 40-some years ago.

Glad to hear you found them all in one place.

10. She's an outdoor kitty, but we let her come in to recuperate.

In the air conditioning. I think that did the trick. She stopped panting and is now feeding the kittens. She looks like she is doing a lot better.
