Were you born on your due date? Close to it? Way early? Way late?
I was born a day after my due date--my mom had a scheduled c-section after finding out I was breech a few days before I was due to arrive. The doctor/nurses allegedly asked if she wanted them to try to turn me around, and she basically laughed in their faces and said she would much rather have the surgery than bother with all that in addition to labor. Staff was surprised she didn't even want to try. :D

I was supposed to be born before Christmas, but I didn't show up till Jan. 2. In the vicious winter of '66--yay me! I still love snow.

46. Especially over the holidays--makes it worse
Of course, my mom was cheesed that I didn't show up on January 1 so I could be "famous" as a New Year's baby.

I'm surprised my mom's doc (and yours) didn't talk induction. MG Jr. was only five days late (due Oct. 30, arrived Nov. 4--election day!) and my midwives were rumbling about induction.

48. Me too
My water didn't break, but I started labor Monday night and went in Tuesday morning (okay, before dawn--what did I know--it was my first and only). As I was waddling into the birthing center, I asked the nurses to cancel my 11:00 appointment for my pre-induction ultrasound down the hall.

8. My dear WIMR!
Interesting question!

I was early, a month early...

My due date was Christmas!

And I arrived right after Thanksgiving...

I think I must have heard about my real due date, and decided that hell no, I wasn't about to have my birthday and Christmas coincide!

So I came early...

Actually, I think my mom was pre-eclamptic...High blood pressure, swelling and all that...

The body often goes into labor under those conditions...

So, whichever story you believe...

I'm a November baby, instead of a December one...

It works for me!

:bounce: :bounce:

9. I too was meant to be a Capricorn and made it into Sagittarius
Due on December 31 but was born December 16. But in 1954 I think the docs weren't that good at predicting!

Anyway, I would have been less inclined to dorkiness and social gaffes if I'd made it to my due date. Saj's aren't known for our tact or diplomacy!!

...but somehow people love us anyway.

Exactly 9 months to the day that JFK was assassinated. So I was either conceived on that day (which I doubt), a few days earlier or a few days later. I never really had the balls to ask my parents when they boinked.

That is fine with me to be born on the July 15th. Did not care for the 13th for unluckyness and it was already my cousin's birthday.

My husband was way late. He was to be born on May 6th and did not arrive until May 29th.

My sister was born on the right date. Of course, this comes with a disclaimer. The doctor changed the date part way through.

17. Two days late - which is fine w/me b/c Mom's due date was Feb. 14th
Your story is similar to Debi, Jr.'s - he was breech w/a foot stuck in the birth canal - I decided to skip labor and the attempt to turn him around and just go straight for a scheduled cesarean. Glad I did b/c Debi, Jr. has spina bifida and the birth and all the messing around w/trying to move him could have done major damage to his spinal cord (in addition to the damage already done). :hi: I don't feel I missed anything w/never experiencing labor. :7

24. I was over 3 weeks late
and nearly 9 lbs. My kids were both born a couple weeks early because they were breach and the first turned herself the day before my C section so they induced labor so she wouldn't have time to turn again. The second they turned manually (and it's not as awful as it sounds) and induced right away to prevent her turning again. Evidently my kids didn't like being upside down in utero.

My own little boy was born the same way as you--the day after his due date via c-section, after a sonogram showed that he was far too large to be born easily the "normal" way. He wound up being 10 lbs, 11.6 ounces. :hi:

40. Early, by scheduled section.
I was breech, and for some reason they didn't want to wait until my mom actually went into labor to see if I turned. This strikes me as being rather stupid, but hey, nobody asked me.

Anyhow, since my mother got to schedule the surgery, I was born on St Patrick's Day. My mom worked in a bar just off the parade route, and she figured that was the only way she was getting out of dealing with the amateur drinkers.

my mom had been in a car accident, and broke her hip. She was laid up in a hospital bed for six weeks. I was breeched, and 9lbs, 21 inches. My arms were twisted behind my back, and I couldn't move them. I went through some physical therapy, docs said I wouldn't ever use my left arm. I'm left handed, btw. The only one in the whole family. My mom had me naturally. This was 1974.

I went into labor with my daughter at 12:15 am, 15 minutes after her due date. She was born a full 24 hours later via c-section.

My mom was due May 31 and they induced her June 20 (1974). Apparently I thought was fine where I was. She has told me many times how large I was (9lb 5oz, 22") I guess for guilt. Although they lived in DC with no AC so being past due in that weather was probably pretty awful.

When my older sister was born she was induced the day after her due date, so there wasn't even a chance for it to happen naturally.
