15. yeah - i made it myself...
it was pretty yummy and it's my energy food this week to carry through until the end of my shift at 10pm (hence the brown rice instead of white - i'd crash too early with white rice)

I'd be happy to share the recipe if you'd like!

and I like shrimp, scallops and lobster also.

With my coupon I bought a very nice rainbow trout fillet and 1/2 pound of tiger shrimp, peeled deveined and ready to eat. They will be my lunch for the nest 2 days.

Had a nice ear of very good corn with my fish.

28. Hooray! Tamales! We went to a yard sale and a lovely woman made them from scratch!
Edited on Sun Jul-27-08 06:30 PM by Radio_Lady
Her whole family was outside, assisting with the sale. We gave them $10 for kids' clothes and dollies and $2 for two tamales.

Then, in my rather loud and and non-fluent (!) Spanish, I broke out in song:

"Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
porque cantando se alegran
cielito lindo los corazones."

Everybody applauded when I finished! Wow!

I'm going to try and learn the other lyrics, found on the Internet.

People are wonderful.

Thanks for reading this.

Radio Lady Ellen

Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
porque cantando se alegran
cielito lindo los corazones

De la sierra, morena
cielito lindo vienen bajando
un par de ojitos negros
cielito lindo de contrabando

Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
porque cantando se alegran
cielito lindo los corazones

Ese lunar que tienes, cielito lindo
junto a la boca, no se lo des a nadie
cielito lindo que a mi me toca

Ay, ay, ay, ay, canta y no llores
porque cantando se alegran
cielito lindo los corazones

It was going to be real dinner, but I waited too long - the only late night take out place was already closed by the time I got around to thinking of it, and I didn't have much food in the house.
