It's up to $314 million after Saturday and should pass an amazing $400 million next week! I just saw it for the third time tonight and was surprised that it was a full theater, so it should add quite a bit after today. It's still every bit as suspensfull even after a third viewing, which IMO is a great sign that this movie will stand the test of time.

2. I think we'll be seeing this movie on TCM
AMC has denegrated to showing ANY past movie, but TCM has stayed with the true classics where TDK will end up as well.

I really wish that they would either adjust for inflation or report the # of tickets sold. It seems like every other summer, there's a new blockbuster that busts the sales records.

Adjusted for inflation, Gone With the Wind grossed $1.4B:

8. It's almost like they want us to believe
that this is the best and most popular movie ever. Now why would they want to do they? :)

If you want to get really scientific, you should also adjust for population changes. The USA's population has doubled since GWTW came out.

But, on the other hand, there probably weren't many people waiting for the DBD release in 1940 so there's that.

9. It's the only movie that has a chance at beating Titanic
For the biggest grossing movie ever.

Titanic made over $600 million.
