No contradiction, can't abandon the whole business to the right-wing, can we?

5. No, if liberals had money to save they would have stocks |
|
There are stocks in companies that do good. If had money to save I would invest in them provided it was pretty safe to do so. I would like to invest in alternate energy companies like wind turbines and solar and, photovoltiac.

8. Can I take this opportunity to ask you a serious question? |
|
I live in New York and have many friends in finance. They are all conservative.
My friend (who is a Democrat) is married to a financier (who is a Republican). When I first found this out, my friend explained, "you have to understand; she reads the Wall Street Journal; she's into finance and the economy."
So here's my question: why do finance people -- those people most directly connected to the nuts and bolts of our economy -- equate Conservative/Republican governance with a good economy?
I point out that the economy is ALWAYS bad under Republican rule and ALWAYS improves under Democrats. (except Carter but that's another whole story).
I don't understand why someone who works on a trading floor can experience the Clinton years, experience the Bush years...and then vote for Bush. It defies logic.
Can you explain it to me? (acknowledging that I'm asking a big question).

9. It's a lazy myth. People equate less regulation with better management. |
|
That is not always the case.

14. A big part of it is taxes... |
|
People view the GOP as the party that "puts money into people's pockets". Too bad what they actually do is steal it from your kid's pockets...:grr:

Awesome company. Awesome business model. Only airline that didn't need a gov't bailout after 9/11...

also known as "SRI"s.
A couple of links to help out: www.socialinvest.org
www.sustainablebusiness.com then click onto "progressive investor"
