"Puppy Games 2008" -- Will you be watching?
"Puppies gear up for own Games"

"The Games begin Aug. 8 -- the Puppy Games, that is.

After scoring big with "Puppy Bowl," which aired concurrently with the Super Bowl, Animal Planet on Thursday announced that it was expanding the franchise with "Puppy Games 2008," a three-hour special that will air the same night as the Olympics opening ceremony.

More than 30 puppies representing different countries -- most of them hailing from Washington, D.C., shelters -- will "compete" in sports such as dog paddling, soccer and gymnastics. A modified version of the special will air Aug. 23, the same weekend as the Olympics closing ceremony."

1. They should have a Tibetan spaniel and/or a Tibetan terrier, or even a lhasa apso
as a big FU to China and the Olympic sponsors.

I think I'll watch. Better than supporting a repressive government's big show.

6. Thanks
It took me the longest time to figure out what the heck this stray who showed up one Halloween was. I called her Smudge, because I was smudging the place with sage at the time. Then when I saw a Tibetan terrier I figured it out.

"Trick or treat. Lady, your dog got out". "I don't have a dog..." Wrong. I have one now!

Do you think it was the prayer flags?

4. It'd be neat if they had breed specific events.
e.g. border collie puppies learning how to heard sheep, bloodhound puppies learning how to track, lab & retriever puppies learning how to assist disabled people, etc.
