I was thinking to myself, "What's the deal?"
Then I remembered, "Dumb bunny, it's SUMMERTIME in Arkansas."
Not like we haven't been through this before.
And it's nowhere near as bad as the Summer of 1980. People who were here still talk about that year.

3. I KNOW. EVERYBODY down here talks about The Summer of 1980. It is legendary |
|
It was pretty bad in Nashville, where I was living at the time.
2006 was pretty bad here, in some respects worse than 1980 and 2005/6 combined had practically NO rainfall. 2007 was a very mild summer, and quite wet. Good thing, at least we have water in the reservoirs to use!
I truly can't remember when we last had rain. It may have been May. I am running my soaker hoses every three or four days.

2. Fortunately, you have low humidity, otherwise it would feel like 115. |

4. I am well aware of that and grateful for it. Some people who live here actually |
|
think this is a humid climate. I know better, I lived in the Mid South where temp and humidity are often equal.
That low humidity is the only saving grace, of course it increases the plant burn from the high heat.

ALL that hot since the humidity was down. It is all about the humidity.

8. Ugh.... 104... 109.... What a bummer! |
|
I don't tolerate heat very well but I'll take dry heat over heat & humidity. It "feels" like 84 here now and the humidity was at 60% this morning & uncomfortable. Now it's at 42% and it's 83 degrees. Getting better over time! 60's tonight!
Stay cool! :hi:
