i just retrieved a pants-less child from my yard
i'm sitting in my living room when i see one of the neighbor kids cruising on past my living room window (the neighbors have two little boys, 3 and 4 years old).

now, my side and back yards, as small as they are, are a minefield of weeds, burrs, hidden rocks and holes and i did not want him to hurt himself. i found him standing on the other side of the duplex, wearing a tshirt, a diaper, a pair of sandals and a backpack...i don't know what he was planning on doing over there, but it was quite the ensemble

they're sweet little boys, even if they start shrieking outside my window at 8 each morning.

3. Ha! If you lived near me, I'd feel the need to do a status check
on JackMN.

He's sleeping on the couch...I hope...

7. Well it sounds like he was all set, he had his backpack
That's the most important part of any venture. See..without pants, he had no pockets so he needed the backpack to collect things..like rocks and those funny looking things that stick in your skin and maybe even a few bugs.

8. he told me the other day you can't eat bugs
he saw my cat walking around and asked me what she was doing. i told him she was probably going to take a nap or eat some bugs or something. he looked at me and said very seriously that you can't eat bugs. i told him cats can, but little boys probably shouldn't.

i was tempted to tell him you can eat bugs, but i didn't want his mother to catch him doing it and him tell her i said he could

18. Yeah, he's probably a little too young to start eating them
wait until he's a little older and can go to the library for some fried ones.

This appeared in our local paper last week. A couple of the expressions are priceless.

11. Right. A 4 year old boy runs through the neighborsyard in his underwear
with a backpack and it's "CUTE".

I do it a couple of times and now suddenly it's a "felony" with a "restraining order" and "registering" as a "sex offender".

14. my roommate had to run outside to break up a cat fight this morning
he'd just woken up when the fight erupted...and because he'd just woken up, he was only wearing his boxers and he was still...uhm....pitching a tent, shall we say. the neighbor kids where outside at the time. when he told me the story, i told him he's lucky he didn't get arrested.
