I wanted a mac book pro but cannot afford that right now. My Mac powerbook is dying and I needed a new Mac ASAP.
It does have the superdrive so I can record CDs and DVDs,

I've owned 7 Macs so far, but none of them were laptops.

unless you really need the added power for some real reason, I think the Macbooks are perfect. Seriously.
90% of everyone can use a Macbook and be perfectly happy. I probably could be too, but I think the Macbook Pro looks cooler...

6. and another thing (this gets my goat) |
|
The mac book pro isn't (or at least wasn't when I got my mac book) available in the 13" size. Part of why I bought a mac book was that the size was actually sensible. I really wanted a small laptop, because I do travel a lot, and take the computer with me from home to school/work, coffee shops, etc. all of the time. I can't stand the trend of giant lap tops. What's the point?

I had a 12 inch iBook before this and that thing was awesomely portable. I think the 15 inch Macbook Pro is the perfect computer and very portable. It is still light and has decent battery life, etc ...
now the 17, that thing is pointless...

8. well, the 13" is just a tad larger than an A4 notebook |
|
I was so jazzed how my mac book fit right into the shoulder bag that I already had. If the computer were bigger, I'd need a bigger bag, and things would slosh around in it more, even if bigger didn't mean heavier.

Day-UM!
(Sadly, the "can't change batteries" thing is a deal breaker for me. But damn, what a SWEET machine!)
