The Los Angeles Times telemarketers are driving me effin' crazy!!

How many freakin' times do I have to tell them, I do not want to get your shitty newspaper every day?!

We used to get the paper every day and I ended up throwing half of them into the recycling bin without reading them. I called them and told them I just wanted the Sunday Times. That worked well for about a month and then they offered us the weekend subscription which somehow became Thursday thru Sunday. Then, the calls came every couple of weeks for us to switch to a daily paper. I told them every time, "I don't want a daily paper!!"

Last week for some reason, we started getting the paper every day. I asked my wife if she had subscribed to the dailly paper and she said she had not. The next day I get a call from the LA Times telling me that they are offering us a trial period of the daily Times and would we like to switch?

I finally lost it and told the person, "I don't want your fucking paper every day!! I won't read it, I don't want to pay for it!!"

What else can I do?

2. I don't know why they keep up the pretense
of trying to print the paper anymore. It's a huge expense for them for an increasingly dwindling return.

I hate getting paper at my house and do virtually all of my news reading online. I can even do the crossword puzzle too.

3. Get on the do not call registry
Nothing gives me more pleasure than turning these jerks in. It seems to have finally worked on those repetitive calls to my cell advertising auto warranties and satellite TV (my car is 15 years old, and I don't own a working TV).

I don't yell at the telemarketers. I've done that job, and it sucks bad enough. I rat out their employers.

Now about those 40+ e-mails a day advertising penis enlargement and erectile drugs...I don't own one of those, either!

5. I cancelled mine a few years back. The LA Times sucks ass.
In fact, the very topic of shitty newspapers was discussed on today's Democracy Now! http://www.democracynow.org
