I just checked the USGS. It was a 5, according to their map.

It certainly rattled some dishes and wobbled things about. It was my wife's first quake, so she's still a bit freaked out. I'm pretending to be calm, of course.

4. Are you okay? Little one, but god they are all scary. |

I'm from Orange County. I know this sounds nuts, but -- I am now surrounded by tornado and hurricane possibilities -- I miss earthquakes. I don't wish for them, but I miss them as compared to other of Mother Nature's tantrums.

It certainly got the blood pumping, however. I was in the San Fernando Valley quake back in 71 when I was a kid, and that scared the bejeesus out of me. This one certainly brought back memories...and not in a good way.
I agree with you about hurricanes. I've been in a few of those, and they are experiences I wouldn't care to repeat.

9. '71 -- that happened on my mother's 30th birthday |

Looking back, I think that's hilarious. Not the earthquake, of course; the coincidence.
Ah... Whittier Narrows, Northridge, Landers/Big Bear . . . . the memories. :scared:
