Sudbury Model Schools?
Has anyone here had experience with them?

Tell me your thoughts.

I'm considering sending my 16 year old, who hasn't fit into "the system" since he was in 1st grade. He's one of the brighter kids who's being left behind because his school is too big to deal with him as an individual. He grows more depressed and less enthusiastic about learning every day. Yes, he is in counseling, which has had a positive impact on our relationship with him. I don't want him to miss out on the joy of learning while his life is relatively care free.

1. Everything I've read...
...makes me wish they were around when I was a kid.

The Sudbury Valley School website is at http://www.sudval.org/ . You're probably familiar with what they have to say there, but that's all I can offer, besides good luck.

2. Thanks...And welcome to DU!
We have an appointment to visit the one closest to us on Friday. My son is pretty happy about the idea of flex-time attendance hours. :-)
