Doghouse of death in Boulder Creek (CA)
Henry K. Lee, Chronicle Staff Writer

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

(07-29) 15:50 PDT BOULDER CREEK -- There is still no sign of a man suspected of neglecting more than three dozen dogs at his home in Santa Cruz County, where a decapitated dog's head and five canine skulls were found, authorities said today as they sought to nurse the emaciated animals back to health.

All told, 38 dogs were confiscated from the home on Hartman Creek Road in Boulder Creek on Saturday afternoon, said county animal services coordinator Tricia Geisreiter.

(snip)

The dogs confiscated from the property including Cane Corsos - also known as Italian mastiffs - that the man had been advertising for sale in local newspapers, Geisreiter said. Also found were Rottweilers and Labrador retrievers.

(snip)

The dogs ranged from puppies just 2 days old to adults as old as 14 years, Geisreiter said. They cannot be put up for adoption yet because they do not belong to the county, Geisreiter said. They are also scared of humans, she said.

Asshole. I hope they catch him and find a way to keep him away from dogs for the rest of his life.

1. Oh, what a heartbreaking story
I hope that catch that rat bastard, too. I don't support the death penalty in most cases, but would be happy to see it used on people like this who are more animalistic than their animals.

2. And I thought my uncle
Was the resident Crazy Person in Boulder Creek! Looks like he's got major competition (and no, that's not his address).

4. I do too, but it's a start.
I'll bet this is one of those jerks who raises "killer" dogs to sell to the mutants who want such poorly socialized animals for fighting and projected toughness.
