we were watching a movie last night (it was 'what would jesus buy.' it's a morgan spurlok film about the church of stop shopping...very interesting movie). anyway, at one point they were doing man on the street interviews and one of the women looked like amy winehouse. i asked if it was her and one of the guys goes 'no, she's too coherent.'

i had to laugh at that...

What with all the hype about her talent a while back, I watched some of her stuff on You Tube and was sorely disappointed. I think she has talent, yes, and her voice is a refreshing change from the overproduced pop tarts that are usually forced down our throats, but I wasn't blown away like I was expecting to be after listening to all the hype.

HOWEVER, whether or not she is the musical genius some claim her to be, nobody--and I mean NOBODY--should be subjected to the evil machine that is the Fame Factory so much that it weakens people with already-weak resolve and exacerbates their tendency to become dependent on addictive substances. (Nope, not even Britney.)

I sincerely hope she gets the help she deserves and cleans up her act. But as long as she's in the limelight, that probably won't happen--sadly.

This girl's story sounds pretty sucky and sad, but it's not freakin' news and it sure as shit isn't gonna make her get any better it doesn't sound like.

I have enough going on in my real life, and concerns about the people I love, to keep me "entertained" these days. And I use the entertained word with a big heaping scoop of sarcasm.
